South African privately-owned full-service regional airline Airlink and the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, Qatar Airways, have signed a comprehensive codeshare agreement. This new partnership means travellers can enjoy the simplicity of purchasing connecting flights on both airlines using a single reservation with seamless ticketing, check-in, boarding and baggage-check experience, during the entire journey. The new codeshare flights are available for sales and will commence travel on the 06 July 2022 subject to government approval.
Qatar Airways currently flies to more than 150 destinations worldwide, including Johannesburg (21 direct weekly return flights from Doha), Cape Town (ten weekly flights) and Durban (four weekly fligths). Airlink is Southern Africa’s largest independent airline measured by flight movements with over 50 commercial jetliners operating to more than 45 destinations in 13 African countries and to St Helena Island.
