update (08 September 2020): According to aviation specialist RoutesOnline, TAP Air Portugal has delayed the launch of flights between Lisbon and Cape Town to 13 December 2020. The frequency of operations will be reduced from three to two return flights per week. Flights will be operated on board an Airbus A330-900neo.
The flag carrier airline of Portugal, TAP Portugal, is planning to launch a new service to Cape Town. Set to commence on 11 November 2020, the airline will operate a three weekly direct service between Humberto Delgado Airport/Lisbon Airport (LIS) in Lisbon, Portugal, and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town, South Africa. The airline will use its new Airbus A330-900neo on the route with the following schedule:
