South Africa's flag carrier,
South African Airways (SAA), has been voted the
Best Airline in Africa for the 11th year in a row in the
Skytrax World Airline Awards 2013. Air Seychelles was named second best airline in Africa, followed by
Air Mauritius. South African budget carrier
Kulula, the
low-cost airline subsidiary of
British Airways franchise
Comair, gained the fourth highest passenger satisfaction ratings.
Mango, also a South African low-cost carrier, was voted eight best airline on the continent.
After winning the award for
Best Staff Service in Africa three times in a row,
South African Airways came in second this year.
Ethiopian Airlines scooped the 2013 award for Africa's best staff service.

The
Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on customer responses to a survey which is run over a period of 10 months. In 2013, over 18 million businesses and leisure air travellers from 100 countries were polled online.
The survey, which covered over 200 airlines, measures passenger satisfaction across more than 40 key performance indicators of airline front-line product and service - including check-in, boarding, onboard seat comfort, cabin cleanliness, food, beverages, inflight entertainment and staff service.
