Promotional video: Sedgefield, the "slow town"

The coastal town of Sedgefield, located between Knysna and George on South Africa's Garden Route, is South Africa's and the continent's firs so-called Cittaslow accredited "Slow Town" (since 2010).

The international "Cittaslow" (ital. for "slow town") movement, inspired by the well-known the Slow Food organization, was founded in Italy in October 1999. The main goal of cittaslow , was and still is today, to enlarge the philosophy of Slow Food to local communities and to government of towns, applying the concepts of ecogastronomy at practice of everyday life. Celebrating and supporting diversity of culture and the specialties of a town and its hinterland are core Cittaslow values.
