Ethiopia's flag carrier Ethiopian Airlines has recently received its 5th Boing 777-200LR aircraft. "The Sahara" arrived at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport on the 22 July 2011, carrying to its full load from Seattle with a stopover in Paris, for the first time.
Ethopian Airlines named the five Boing 777-200LRs after African land marks - the first 777-200LR was named "The Blue Nile", the second "Rift Valley" , the third "Victoria Falls", the fourth "Mount Kilimanjaro" and the fifth "The Sahara".
According to the airline's CEO Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam, with the new aircrafts the airline is now able to cut travel time of their international flights to the US by two to three hours.
Ethiopian Airlines, one of the most successful and leading airlines in Africa, made its maiden flight to Cairo in 1946. With the addition of new flight services to Milan, Ethiopian will provide dependable services to 63 international destinations spanning four continents.
