Zambia's Zambezi Airlines will introduce Livingstone <> Cape Town direct flights from 30 June 2011 as part of a new flight service between the Zambian capital Lusaka and Cape Town.
The airline will operate flights between Livingstone > Cape Town on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, departing Lusaka at 12:15, arriving in Livingstone at 13:15. From Livingstone flights will depart at 14:00, arriving in Cape Town at 17:10.
Cape Town > Livingstone flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and will depart at 08:00, arriving in Livingstone at 11:10. Flights will then depart Livingstone at 11:55, arriving in Lusaka at 12:55.
The flights will be operated by a B737-500, configured in 99 economy seats and 12 business-class seats.
Hot meals (snack only on domestic sector) and non-alcoholic beverages provided free of charge in economy class. Full service hot meal and selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in business class.
Zambezi Airlines standard baggage policy applies as below:
- Adults and Children over 2 years: economy 32 kg and business 42 kg checked; 10 kg hand baggage.
- Infants under 2 years: 10 kg checked; 5 kg hand baggage.
The airline is also in the process of finalising plans to offer a bus transfer service between Livingstone and Victoria Falls.
update (20 April 2011): Zambezi Airlines is also about to sign an interline agreement with Zambia’s domestic arrier, Proflight Commuter Services which will allow connections to other Zambian tourist destinations such as the South Luangwa National park.
