Limpopo Wildlife Resorts announces “Mahala Week 2025” – free entry for South Africans to 11 Limpopo Nature Reserves!

Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) has confirmed the dates for the Mahala Week 2025, an annual initiative that gives South African citizens free entry to some of Limpopo’s most spectacular natural destinations. From 08 September to 14 September 2025, entrance fees will be waived at 11 provincial nature reserves across Limpopo.

The Mahala Week campaign aims to promote eco-tourism within South Africa, encouraging locals to connect with nature, explore diverse wildlife, and discover the province’s rich cultural and environmental heritage. Please note that the free entry applies to gate fees only – accommodation, guided activities, and other services remain payable at standard rates.

During Mahala Week 2025, South Africans can enjoy free entry at the following Limpopo reserves and provincial parks:

  1. Blouberg Nature Reserve
  2. Nwanedi Provincial Park
  3. Nylsvley Nature Reserve
  4. Lekgalameetse Provincial Park
  5. Doorndraai Dam Resort
  6. Rust de Winter Dam Resort
  7. Mokolo Dam Nature Reserve
  8. D’Nyala Nature Reserve
  9. Schuinsdraai Nature Reserve
  10. Makuya Nature Reserve
  11. Wolkberg Wilderness Area

Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR), which is mandated to offer hospitality services in Provincial Nature Reserves in Limpopo to national and international tourists, has announced the dates of the "Mahala Week 2024". Entrance will be waived for visitors to eleven Nature Reserves in Limpopo from 09 September 2024 to 15 September 2024. The free access initiative into the facilities does not include accommodation and other tourism activities on offer. Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) is offering free access to the following Nature Reserves:

  2. Nwanedi Provincial Park
  3. Nylsvley Nature Reserve
  4. Lekgalameetse Provincial Park

Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) has announced the dates of the "Mahala Week 2023". Entrance will be waived for visitors to eleven Nature Reserves in Limpopo from 11 September 2023 to 17 September 2023. The free access initiative into the facilities does not include accommodation and other tourism activities on offer. Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) is offering free access to the following Nature Reserves:

Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) has announced the dates for the 2021 Mahala Week. From 06 September 2021 to 12 September 2021, South African visitors will get free entrance to eleven facilities managed by the LWR in Limpopo. The free access into the facilities does not include accommodation and other tourism activities on offer. Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) is offering free access to the following:

Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) has announced the dates for this year's "Wildlife Mahala Week". The initiative will take place from today (11 September 2020) until 19 September 2020. During the nine days, South African visitors will get free entrance to eleven facilities managed by the LWR in Limpopo. The free access into the facilities does not include accommodation and other tourism activities on offer. Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) is offering free access to the following:

Limpopo: Eight days of free entry into eight Limpopo Wildlife Resorts in September 2019!

Not only South African National Parks (SANParks), CapeNature and the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) are offering free entry into National Parks and Nature Reserves in September 2019, but also Limpopo Wildlife Resorts. Between 08 September 2019 - 15 September 2019 ("Mahala Week"), Limpopo Wildlfe Reserves will offer free entry into eight of its resorts in Limpopo. The free access into the selected resorts is strictly for day visitors only and does not include accommodation and other tourism activities on offer at those reserves for the selected period.

Limpopo:

  • Doorndraai Dam Resort
  • Nwanedi Resort
  • Singo Safari Lodge

Limpopo Wildlife Resorts offers free entry to parks from 19 - 23 September 2011

According to Tourism Update, Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR) will not be charging entrance fees to its provincial parks during Wildlife Mahala Week from 19 to 23 September 2011 (daily between 06h00 and 18h00). The campaign is part of this month' Tourism Month celebrations in South Africa, which are aimed to promote domestic tourism. International visitors should keep that in mind when visiting the parks in Limpopo during the week. Some parks might occasionally be pretty full or even fully booked.
All provincial nature reserves and resorts will take part in the Wildlife Mahala Week. They include Nwanedi, Acacia, Mphephu, Makuya, Nylsvley, D’nyala, Schuinsdraai, Doorndraai Dam, Lekgalameetse, Rust de Winter, and Shona-Langa.
Please also keep in mind, that only the entrance will be free, other activities, including accommodation, game drives, angling, water tubing and boat cruises will be charged at the usual fee.
