The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has released the Seasonal Climate Watch for the period August 2022 to December 2022. According to the multi-model rainfall forecast, below-normal rainfall is expected for the south-western parts of South Africa during early- and mid-spring (August 2022 to November 2022), with above-normal rainfall expected elsewhere. Late-spring is expected to have above-normal rainfall countrywide, with significant rainfall expected over the north-eastern parts of South Africa as we move to the summer months. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be above-normal for most of the country.
