update (07 November 2019): Newland's Picnic/Braai Site in Cape Town's Table Mountain National Park has been reopened yesterday. The water has been restored and the picnic site is operating normally.
South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced that the Newland's Picnic/Braai Site in Cape Town's Table Mountain National Park is temporarily closed since 02 November 2019. The site has currently no water resulting in ablution facilities being out of service. The City of Cape Town and SANParks are trying to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
The Newland's Picnic/Braai Site in Table Mountain National Parkis conveniently situated off the M3 near Rondebosch. Several hikes are also accessible from the picnic area. Alcohol is prohibited. The Newland's Picnic/Braai Site is closed during the winter period (01 June – 30 September).
