The state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, Qatar Airways, is set to launch a new service between Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha and Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (GBE) in Gaborone via OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. Effective 27 October 2019, the airline will operate three weekly return flights on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays on board an Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Gaborone will be the airline's first destination in the African country.
