According to British travel magazine Time Out, Cape Town's City Bowl is one of the 50 coolest neighbourhoods in the world in 2018. The magazine compiled the list by surveying more than 15,000 people around the world as well as its local editors and writers. Ranked on #21, the City Bowl is described as beeing "home to some of the country’s finest restaurants" and as "the perfect base to visit Cape Town's better known attractions or hit up beaches, farmers’ markets or the V&A Waterfront".
Time Out recommends The Dog's Bollocks at YARD (6 Roodehek St) for outstanding burgers, Outrage of Modesty (88 Shortmarket St) for cocktails, the Zeitz MOCAA (Silo District, S Arm Road, V&A Waterfont) for a dose of contemporary African art and the Cape Heritage Hotel in Bree St. to stay at.
