- CITES I > species threatened with extinction.
- CITES II > species for which trade must be controlled in order to avoid behaviour incompatible with their survival.
- CITES III > species that are protected in at least one country, which has asked other CITES parties for assistance in controlling the trade.

Qatar Airways bans transport of all hunting trophies!
The state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, Qatar Airways, yesterday (06 Aug 2015) announced the extension of its existing embargo on transporting hunting trophies to encompass all species (CITES I,II & III) identified by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
