Hostel Awards 2013: The Backpack (Cape Town) named 2nd best hostel in Africa

One of Cape Town's original backpacker hostels, "The Backpack", was named second best Hostel in Africa in Hostelworld's 2013 Hostel Awards (2012: 3rd). Congratulations! The successor of last year's winner Atlantic Point Backpackers, also from Cape Town, as the Best Hostel in Africa is the Hostel Riad Marrakech Rouge in Marrakech, Morocco.

The annual Hostelworld "Hostel Awards", formerly known as "Hoscars", honour the top hostels in the world, as voted for by Hostelworld.com customers. These are based on reviews that users leave after staying in a hostel, rating hostels on Character, Security, Location, Staff, Fun and Cleanliness.
