Southern Africa did well in the "Condé Nast Traveler Reader's Choice Awards 2011"

The U.S. luxury travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, recently announced the winners of their annual "Reader's Choice Awards" survey. The readers of the magazine could vote for the world's best cities, islands, hotels, resorts, cruises and airlines. The 2011 final winners were sifted from more than 8 million votes.
Southern African hotels and resort did quite well in the survey and Cape Town even made it to the fourth "Best City in the World"! The Top Five Hotels in Africa are also from South Africa. The Steenberg Hotel in Cape Town was voted "Best Hotel in Africa", followed by The Saxon in Johannesburg, the Cape Grace in Cape Town, the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa in Cape Town and the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town.
With the Safari Lodges at the Phinda Private Game Reserve in South Africa, the Kirawira Luxury Tented Camp in Tanzania, the Mombo and Little Mombo Camps in Botswana and Londolozi in South Africa, four out of the Top Five Resorts in Africa are from Southern & Eastern Africa. Only the 2011 winner, the Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh, is located in Egypt.
