update (21 November 2022): In addition to the swimming pools that are open, the eThekwini Municipality has re-opened twelve more pools from Saturday (19 November 2022).
The re-opened pools are: Stanmore, Umlazi D, L.T King, Bayview, Arena Park , Alex Bulley, Lamontville, Lahee Park, Ntuzuma, Sutton Park, South Beach Paddling and Tesoriere.
The following swimming pools are already open: Rainham, Durban North, Pipeline, Tiger Rocks, Anstey's, Westville, and Kings Park complex both indoor and outdoor.
The eThekwini Municipality, the local government body responsible for governing and managing Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, has released lists of beaches that are currently (as of 15 November 2022) open for swimming, closed for swimming and of swimming pools that are currently open to the public. According to the lists, fourteen beaches in Durban are currently open for swimming, while swimming at eight beaches is probibted due to water quality. Seven swimming pools in Durban are open to the public.

- uMdloti
- Winkelespruit
- Anstey's
Recreational activities other than swimming at beaches closed for swimming are allowed!
