South Africa: Seasonal rainfall & temperature outlook (April - August 2021)!

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has released the Seasonal Climate Watch for the period April 2021 to August 2021. According to the multi-model rainfall forecast South Africa will experience mostly above-normal rainfall during late-autumn (April - June 2021) and early-winter (May - July 2021) and mostly  below-normal rainfall during mid-winter (June - August 2021). However, for the most important parts during winter, a mixed forecast is indicated for the far south-western parts of the country, thus the expected rainfall conditions for this area are at this stage uncertain.

In terms of temperatures, South Africa will experience mostly above-normal minimum and maximum temperatures with isolated parts across the country indicating below-normal temperatures throughout the whole forecast period.
