The national airline of Madagascar, Air Madagascar, will suspend its two weekly service between Ivato International Airport (TNR) in Antananarivo and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg from 08 January 2020. The last scheduled flight will take place on 07 January 2020. Travellers who have confirmed bookings after this date will be offered rerouting options or refund possibilities by the airline. Air Madagascar only resumed operations to Johannesburg in June 2019. According to a statement by the airline, Air Madagascar "will resume its flights once conditions are met for an optimal service with an aircraft whose capacity is more suited to the demand".
