SANParks announced the dates for the SA National Parks Week 2014

South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced that the ninth annual South African National Parks Week will be from 8 to 12 September 2013. During the four days, South African day visitors will have free access to most of the 21 national parks in the country. The only excpetions are Namaqua National Park and the Boulders section of the Table Mountain National Park. It should be noted that free access to parks does not in include free access to accommodation facilities and other tourist activities. The excluded Parks will apply normal entry tariffs, as they have been declared non-participants in the free access scheme, due to the seasonality of their product offering.

Some of the parks will be extending the week to include the weekend:

• Bontebok National Park (08 - 14 September 2014)
• Camdeboo National Park (08 - 14 September 2014)
• Garden Route (Tsitsikamma, Knysna, Wilderness) National Park (08 - 12 September 2014)
• Golden Gate Highlands National Park (08 - 12 September 2014)
• Karoo National Park (08 - 14 September 2014)
• Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (08 - 12 September 2014)
• Kruger National Park (08 - 12 September 2014)
• Mapungubwe National Park (08 - 12 September 2014)
• Marakele National Park (08 - 12 September 2014)
• Mokala National Park (08 - 12 September 2014)
• Mountain Zebra National Park (08 - 13 September 2014) 
• Namaqua National Park (Excluded from SA National Parks Week)
• Table Mountain National Park (08 - 13 September 2014; Free entry excludes Boulders Penguin Colony)
• Tankwa Karoo National Park (08 - 14 September 2014)
