Motorists travelling in and around Johannesburg on 15 November 2025 should prepare for temporary road closures, rolling shutdowns, and intermittent delays as authorities implement a coordinated security operation for the G20 Leaders’ Summit.
The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), Gauteng Traffic Police (GTP), Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) and the South African Police Service (SAPS) have confirmed that multiple high-security routes across the city will be affected between 09:00 and 13:00.
Where will the traffic disruptions occur?
The operation impacts the City of Johannesburg only, focusing on national highways, major intersections, and key urban corridors.
