Botswana: The Samora Machel Memorial Museum in Lobatse to open in 2019!

The Samora Machel Memorial Museum, located in the Peleng township in Lobatse (Botswana), is set to be inaugurated this year. According to Mozambique's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Silva Armando Dunduru, the construction is currently at 75%. The museum is being built on the former homestead of the Kgaboesele family, who gave Samora Machel accommodation during Mozambique's fight for liberation.
"This project has not only the meaning between the two countries, but it is regional. It is meant to recognise all nationalists that fought for the independence of the region." (Silva Armando Dunduru) src.
The Samora Machel Memorial Museum, which is financed by the government of Mozambique, is built to honour the first President of Mozambique from the country's independence in 1975, Samora Machel (1933 – 1986). Construction of the museum commenced in 2017.
