Air Namibia postpones additional domestic flights & terminates regional route!

According to a press release by Air Namibia, the airline has postponed the launch of additional frequencies on some of its domestic and regional routes, which were due to start on 31 March 2019. The airline names the need to ensure operational readiness from the perspective of aircraft availability as one of the main reasons for the postponement. Air Namibia also announced the termination of one domestic route and one regional route. The following flights are affected:
  • Windhoek Eros Airport (ERS), Windhoek – Ondangwa Airport (OND), Ondangwa – Windhoek Eros Airport (ERS), Windhoek:
    • The number of flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays will remain on two per day.
  • Windhoek Eros Airport (ERS), Windhoek – Katima Mulilo Airport (MPA), Katima MuliloWindhoek Eros Airport (ERS), Windhoek:
    • The number of flights will remain on four per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays).
  • Windhoek Eros Airport (ERS), Windhoek – Rundu Airport (NDU), RunduWindhoek Eros Airport (ERS), Windhoek:
    • The number of flights will remain on three per week (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays)
  • Ondangwa Airport (OND), Ondangwa – Walvis Bay International Airport (WVB), Walvis BayOndangwa Airport (OND), Ondangwa:
    • Effective 31 March 2019, the direct service will be terminated.
  • Walvis Bay International Airport (WVB), Walvis Bay - OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg:
    • Effective 31 March 2019, the direct service will be terminated.
