South Africa's flag carrier South African Airways will increase its Johannesburg <> Perth service from currently 6 flights per week to a daily service from 16 Aug 2012. The new flight will be operated on Thursdays from Johannesburg and Fridays from Perth. In addition, the
airline will unify its operational schedule out of Perth.
The flight on Sunday, which is currently departing in the morning, will be moved to a departure time in the evening. The airline operates an A340-300 on the route.
With the addition of the new flight, South African Airways will have a total of 14 flights a week between South Africa and Australia.
The carrier’s codeshare with Qantas is scheduled to come to an end on 31 Dec 2012 this year, pending a judicial review.
