South Africa: Intercape to launch a new coach route between Durban <> Maputo (Mozambique)!

The largest intercity passenger transport service operating in Southern Africa, Intercape, is set to launch a new coach route between Durban in South Africa and Maputo in Mozambique. Effective 06 September 2019, the bus company will operate the new route on board a 60-seater luxury bus on Tuesdays, Thursdays as well as Sundays (Durban > Maputo) and on Fridays, Mondays and Wednesdays (Maputo > Durban). The total travel time between the two destinations will be 9.5 hrs. Popular stops along the way include Richards Bay, Hluhluwe, Kosi Bay and Ponta do Ouro. A 20 minute refreshment stop will be made at the Hluhluwe PetroPort in Hluhluwe (both directions).

South Africa: Intercape and Greyhound have reopened routes to Zimbabwe! [update]

update (17 January 2019): Greyhound just announced that services to/from Zimbabwe - as well as to Malawi - have resumed!

Intercape, one of South Africa's largest and most popular luxury coach transport service providers, has resumed services to/from Zimbabwe and Malawi on 17 January 2019. The services were suspended due to the political unrest in Zimbabwe since 14 January 2019. The services of Greyhound, another popular luxury coach transport operator in South Africa which also canceled services to/from Zimbabwe on 14 January 2019, remain canceled. We'll keep you posted!

South Africa: Greyhound & Intercape have canceled all services to/from Zimbabwe [update]

update (16 January 2019): Greyhound has canceled all trips to/from Zimbabwe until further notice. Intercape has suspended services to/from Zimbabwe and Malawi for today!

Greyhound and Intercape, two of South Africa's largest and most popular luxury coach transport service providers, have both temporarily canceled all services to/from Zimbabwe due to the current political unrest in the country. This includes all coaches departing on 15 January 2019. Intercape has also canceled all services to/from Malawi. We advise to contact Greyhound or Intercape in case your travels are affected by the cancellation of services. We'll keep you posted!

Victoria Falls: New Intercape pick-up/drop-off point!

In case you are planning to use an Intercape bus to or from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe: The pick-up/drop-off point has changed from The Kingdom Hotel (1 Mallett Drive) to the Total Garage Vic Falls (251 Livingstone Way; see map).

Zimbabwe: Intercape-Pathfinder coach service launched operations

South African luxury coach operator, Intercape, has merged with Pathfinder, a local coach operator from Zimbabwe, to form a new joint venture for the Zimbabwean market. The new Intercape-Pathfinder coach service, which will connect Zimbabwe to Intercape's network in South Africa, began operations on 02 March 2015. The new service will cover the following routes:

• Johannesburg - Bulawayo - Gweru - Kwekwe -  Harare
• Johannesburg - Bulawayo - Victoria Falls
• Johannesburg - Masvingo - Harare
• Harare - Mutare

South Africa's Intercape to introduce services to Zambia

According to zambianwatchdog.com, South Africa's biggest intercity passenger bus services Intercape will introduce its services to Zambia from the end of October 2010 on.



The mainliner will connect Johannesburg in South Africa with Lusaka and Livingstone (on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls) in Zambia. Very good news for budget travellers as flight rates from Johannesburg to Zambia are mostly pretty high.
