update (22 May 2024): ACSA has announced that the baggage sortation system at O.R. Tambo International Airport Terminal B is fully operational again.
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has informed the public that passengers at OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg are currently experiencing delays in baggage processing. The baggage handling system at the (domestic) Terminal B is currently down. Due to "network challenges", bags are unable to be processed through the sortation system. ACSA's IT network technicians are actively engaged in fault finding to resolve this matter. However, until a solution is implemented, manual baggage processing procedures have been activated. We'll keep you posted!
