The flag carrier of Algeria, Air Algérie, is set to launch direct flights to South Africa. The airline has announced that it will be operating flights between Houari Boumediene International Airport (ALG) in Algiers, Algeria, and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. Effective 21 September 2023, Air Algérie will be offering two weekly return flights to South Africa on board an Airbus A330. Flights from Algiers to Johannesburg will be operated on Sundays and Thursdays, while the return connection will be operated on Mondays and Thursdays
Air Algérie's service to Johannesburg, South Africa, was initially scheduled to start on 26 March 2023 with the same schedule but was delayed.
