Johannesburg: OR Tambo International Airport has opened the upper roadway for for passenger drop-offs!

Due to growing passenger numbers in recent days the management of OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg has adapted the drop-off and pick-up arrangements put in place when the coronavirus lockdown was first eased. Since 04 October 2020, the upper roadway at the airport has been opened for passenger drop-offs. The upper roadway is for drop-off only. Selected entrances to the terminal building from the upper roadway have also been opened. Branded banners have been placed at the reopened entrances. According to OR Tambo International Airport spokesperson Samukelo Khambule, Ekurhuleni Metro Police continues to control access to the upper roadway. Driver-only vehicles are not allowed onto the upper roadway.

The lower roadway at OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) remains closed. Pick-ups are not permitted on the upper roadway. Pick-ups should continue to be done from Parkade 2 South levels 2, 3 and 4 where the first 30 minutes is free.
