City Sightseeing introduces two free guided Cape Town walking tours!

City Sightseeing Cape Town has teamed up with Nielsen Tours to offer two free guided walking tours in Cape Town. Both tours depart from and return to City Sightseeing's new Longstreet Tour Office (stop #5 on their bus tours). The "Historic City Walk" departs at 11:00 and returns at approx. 12:30, while the "Bo-Kaap Walk" departs at 15:00 and returns at approx. 16:30. You don't need to book theses tours, just arrive at the City Sightseeing's Longstreet Tour Office in time for one of the free tours.


The Historic City Walk (11:00, 90 min) includes:
  • St Georges Cathedral – hear about Desmond Tutu
  • The Parliament and presidents house – the land of many capitals
  • The Old Strand and Old Mutual Building – African style architecture and where the beach used to be
  • City Hall – where Mandela gave his world famous speech
  • Green Market Square
  • The Parade and the Castle of Good Hope
  • The flower Market – meet South Africa’s National flower “in person”
  • The Slave Lodge – where thousands of slaves were kept
  • Company Gardens with probably the world’s oldest pear tree and the begging squirrels
The Bo-Kaap Walk (15:00, approx. 90 min) includes:
  • Greenmarket Square - filled with African art, drums, cloths, jewellery, great coffee shops
  • Cape Malay Quarter Hills
  • Auwal Masjid – the first Mosque in Cape Town
  • Colourful Houses
  • Cobbled Streets
  • Cape Malay food
  • Bo-Kaap Museum
