Edelweiss Air, the Swiss leisure and charter airline affiliated with Swiss International Air Lines and part of the Lufthansa Group, will introduce direct flights between Zurich Airport (ZRH) in Zürich, Switzerland, and Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek, Namibia, starting 01 June 2026.
The seasonal service will operate non-stop twice a week, with departures from Zürich scheduled for Mondays and Fridays through the end of October 2026. The route will be operated using a modern Airbus A350, offering passengers enhanced comfort and efficiency on long-haul flights.
With this new connection, Windhoek becomes the third Sub-Saharan African destination - after Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa - to be served by all three of the Lufthansa Group’s key hubs: Frankfurt, Munich, and now Zürich.
This new route strengthens travel links between Switzerland and Namibia, offering both leisure travellers and safari tourists more options to explore the spectacular landscapes of Southern Africa.
