Cape Town: MyCiTi Airport Service suspended as from 01 December 2022!

The City of Cape Town has announced that the MyCiTi Airport Service (A01 Airport <> Civic Centre route) will be suspended as from 01 December 2022. According to the City, the low number of passengers making use of the service between the MyCiTi Airport bus station right outside the main Airport terminal of Cape Town International Airport (CPT) and the Civic Centre in Cape Town's city centre as well as the 50,5% increase in the diesel price from 05 January 2022 to 02 November 2022 have necessitated the suspension. The buses operating on this route will instead be redeployed to the popular routes that connect Atlantis with Table View, Century City and the Cape Town CBD. The City of Cape Town will investigate more cost effective and innovative solutions to resume the MyCiTi Airport Service in the future. We'll keep you posted!

MyCiTi is Cape Town's version of bus rapid transit (BRT), a form of public transport service pioneered in South America and widely adopted in cities across the world.
