South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced that renovations at Olifants Rest Camp in Kruger National Park began on 20 October 2025 and are expected to continue until 12 December 2025.
Located high above the Olifants River in the park’s central region, Olifants Rest Camp is one of Kruger National Park's most iconic rest camps, renowned for its panoramic views, abundant wildlife, and tranquil setting. The renovation project forms part of SANParks’ ongoing infrastructure upgrade programme aimed at improving visitor facilities and enhancing the overall guest experience.
According to SANParks, the construction will be carried out in phases, ensuring minimal disruption to visitors. Olifants Rest Camp's shop will remain open throughout the renovation period, allowing guests to continue accessing essential goods and souvenirs during their stay.
