Hikers will require food, good walking boots, a backpack, water bottles, snacks and weather-proof hiking gear, as well as a specially trained trail guide or at least a good map of the area. Along the Hoerikwaggo Trail hikers will find 4 tented camps, which have been exclusively built for this trail. These accommodation camps are: Orange Kloof (Hout Bay), Silvermine (below Noordhoek Peak) Slangkop Point, near the Kommetjie Lighthouse, and Smitswinkel near the entrance to the TMNP's Cape Point section. There is no charge for hiking the trail itself, but hikers are required to pay entrance (Cape Point) and accommodation fees. South Africa's outdoor & travel magazine "Go!" did not only produce and publish the video above (kudos!), but will also discuss the Hoerikwaggo Trail in their June 2012 issue.
