Namibia: FlyWestair rebranded as FlyNamibia!

Namibian privately-owned airline Westair Aviation has announced the rebranding of its scheduled passenger airline FlyWestair to FlyNamibia. According to the airline, the name was changed to better reflect its role as trusted Namibian carrier. FlyWestair launched domestic operations in Namibia in June 2019. The airline offers domestic services in Namibia as well as regional flights to South Africa. FlyNamibia will continue operating FlyWestair's domestic and regional routes, with new destinations on the horizon. We'll keep you posted!

Namibia: FlyWestair to launch flights between Windhoek <> Cape Town!

Namibian privately-owned passenger airline FlyWestair is set to launch scheduled direct flights to Cape Town in South Africa. Effective from 01 October 2021, the airline will operate three weekly flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between Hosea Kutaku International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town. Flights will depart Windhoek at 08:30 and arrive in Cape Town at 10:30, while the return flight will depart Cape Town at 11:30 and arrive in Windhoek at 13:30.

Namibia: FlyWestair has launched flights between Windhoek <> Katima Mulilo!

Namibian privately-owned passenger airline FlyWestair has launched a new service to Namibia's Zambezi Region. The airline is now offering three weekly flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Katima Mulilo Airport (MPA) in Katima Mulilo. Flights depart Windhoek at 11:00 and arrive in Katima Mulilo at 12:25 while the return flights depart Katima Mulilo at 13:05 and arrive in Windhoek at 14:30.

Namibia: FlyWestair to launch flights between Windhoek <> Rundu!

Namibian privately-owned passenger airline FlyWestair has announced the introduction of flights between between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Rundu Airport (NDU) in Rundu, the capital of the Kavango Region in northeastern Namibia. Effective 24 August 2021, the airline will operate two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Flights will depart Windhoek at 11:00 and arrive in Rundu at 12:00, while the return flights will depart Rundu at 12:40 and arrive in Windhoek at 13:40.

Namibia: FlyWestair to increase frequencies between Windhoek <> Ondangwa!

Namibian privately-owned passenger airline FlyWestair has announced that it will increase its domestic frequencies between Eros Airport (ERS)  in Windhoek and Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Airport (OND) in Ondangwa in the Oshana Region of northern Namibia. Effective 28 April 2021, the airline will operate five instead of the current four weekly flights to Ondangwa. Flights will then be operated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays (new), Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Namibia: FlyWestair to introduce new domestic routes!

Namibian privately-owned passenger airline FlyWestair is planning to introduce scheduled operations between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Katima Mulilo Airport (MPA) in Katima Mulilo, Rundu Airport (NDU) in Rundu, Lüderitz Airport (LUD) in Lüderitz and Oranjemund Airport (OMD) in Oranjemund. The airline already has the ability to operate these routes, however, the launch date for these new routes is currently pending due to procedural delays caused by the Transportation Commission of Namibia being unable to call for a hearing to approve the routes. FlyWestair is in contact with the Ministry of Transport on the matter and trust it will be resolved soon. We'll keep you posted!

Namibian privately-owned passenger airline FlyWestair has announced the introduction of additional flights between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Airport (OND) in Ondangwa in the Oshana Region of northern Namibia. Effective 15 March 2021, the airline will operate four instead of the current two weekly return flights to Ondangwa. Flights will then be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Namibia: FlyWestair to launch flights between Windhoek <> Walvis Bay!

Namibian privately-owned passenger airline FlyWestair is set to introduce scheduled flights to Namibia's largest coastal city, Walvis Bay. Effective 20 November 2020, the airline will operate two weekly flights on Fridays and Sundays between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Walvis Bay International Airport (WVB) in Walvis Bay. On Fridays flights will depart Windhoek at 11:00 and arrive in Walvis Bay at 11:45, while the return flights will depart Walvis Bay at 13:45 and will arrive in Windhoek at 14:20. On Sundays, flights will depart Windhoek at 15:20 and will arrive in Walvis Bay at 16:05, while the return flight will depart Walvis Bay at 16:40 and will arrive in Windhoek at 17:05.

Namibia: FlyWestair to launch scheduled flights between Windhoek <> Johannesburg!

Namibian airline FlyWestair will become the first privately owned airline in the history of independent Namibia to operate a scheduled passenger route between Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. Effective 02 November 2020, the airline will initially operate two scheduled flights per week designed to connect with various international airlines through Johannesburg. One such connection is with Qatar Airways, which recently cancelled its direct flights between Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha and Windhoek.

FlyWestair
will also resume its service to Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town. Effective 23 October 2020, the airline will operate two weekly flights per week on on Mondays and Fridays between Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in
Windhoek and Cape Town International Airport (CPT).

Since domestic travel restrictions in
Namibia were lifted, FlyWestair has been operating two flights per week between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Andimba Toivo ya Toivo Airport /Ondangwa Airport (OND) in Ondangwa, each Friday and Sunday. These frequencies will increase with the addition of a mid-week return flight to Ondangwa every Wednesday, starting on 28 October 2020.

According to Frederico Ribeiro, Business Development Manager for FlyWestair, all tickets booked with FlyWestair will be fully refundable and 100% flexible. There will be no cost to change flights and passengers will get their money back if one cancels. Passengers who have booked tickets with the airline and opted to hold their tickets will be able to rebook on the current schedules at no additional costs.

Namibia: Air Namibia and FlyWestair temporarily suspend all operations!

Namibia's flag carrier, Air Namibia, has announced the temporary suspension of all passenger flights effective 27 March 2020. Domestic and regional fligths will remain suspended until 20 April 2020, while the airline's international operations, which are already suspended sice 14 March 2020, remain canceled until further notice. The temporary suspension of operations is in alignment with Namibia's latest travel restrictions aimed at curbing the further spread of the corona virus. Air Namibia has introduced rebooking options for travellers who need to change their travel dates due to the suspension. The airline offers all customers holding a ticket purchased to travel before 30 April 2020 one free change to a new travel date until 31 December 2020. Namibia's first private scheduled passenger airline, FlyWestair, also announced the suspension of all domestic passenger flights effective 26 March 2020 until further notice. The airline's only regional service between Windhoek (Eros) and Cape Town via Oranjemund has already been suspended since 23 March 2020 and will remain so until further notice.

Namibia: FlyWestair to increase fligths on both local and regional routes!

Namibia's first private scheduled passenger airline, FlyWestair, is set to increase the number of weekly flights on both local and regional routes. Effective 17 February 2020, the airline will operate two additional weekday flights per week to Ondangwa, Oranjemund (Namibia) and Cape Town (South Africa). This will increase FlyWestair's flight frequency from 30 to 46 flights per week. According to the airline, these new flights are being added in response to market demand.
FlyWestair launched operations on 24 June 2019 with scheduled flights between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Oranjemund Airport (OMD) in
Oranjemund in southern Namibia. Flights between Eros Airport (ERS) and Ondangwa Airport (OND) in Ondangwa were added in July 2019 and flights between Eros Airport (ERS) and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town in October 2019.

Namibia: FlyWestair to launch flights between Windhoek <> Cape Town!

Namibia's first private scheduled passenger airline, FlyWestair, is set to launch a new service to Cape Town in South Africa. Effective 07 October 2019, the airline will offer two flights a day every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and one flight on Sundays, from Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek to Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in Cape Town, with a quick stopover at Oranjemund Airport (OMD) in Oranjemund in southern Namibia.
Westair Aviation Limited, which
operates under the brand name FlyWestair, is a registered airline of Namibia. In June 2019, the airline was granted "designated carrier" status by the Namibian Transport Commission. This accreditation makes Westair Aviation an official scheduled passenger airline. Scheduled local flights commenced on 24 June 2019 from the airline's hub at Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek.

Namibia: Westair to launch domestic & regional passenger flights! [update]

update (10 July 2019): FlyWestair will operate two daily return flights between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Ondangwa Airport (OND) in Ondangwa.
 
update (17 June 2019): According to post by the airline on Facebook, FlyWestair now also offers scheduled flights between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Ondangwa Airport (OND) in Ondangwa on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Westair Aviation, a private airline based in Namibia, is set to launch domestic passenger flights in Namibia after it was granted "designated carrier" status by the Namibian Transport Commission. This accreditation makes Westair Aviation an official scheduled passenger airline. Effective 24 June 2019, the airline will offer three flights per week between Eros Airport (ERS) in Windhoek and Oranjemund Airport (OMD) in Oranjemund in southern Namibia. Ticket are available from today (12 June 2019). Other domestic routes are planned to open in July 2019, while regional flights are planned to open in August 2019 (subject to on service agreements being reached with authorities and service providers). Westair Aviation, which will operate under the brand name "FlyWestair", is looking to offer flights to Cape Town (serviced from Oranjemund and Windhoek), Walvis Bay, Ondangwa and Johannesburg.
